Flamboro Speedway Finding New Ways to Connect with Drivers and Fans

MILLGROVE, Ontario (April 21, 2020)--- With everybody focused on being safe and social distancing, Flamboro Speedway is finding new ways to spend the time.

Just recently, track announcer Gary Colling began catching up with different drivers through the track’s Instagram account, hosting a talk session where they talk about the past, present, future, and answer some questions from the fans along the way. The link to the Instagram account is https://www.instagram.com/flamborospeedway/.

Fans are encouraged to check out the Instagram lives while they’re taking place on the track’s account, and chime in with any questions they have may for the featured driver. Additionally, if you missed one or want to share it with friends, note they are only available for 24 hours form the time that they took place.

Thus far, the track has featured Shawn Chenoweth, J.R. Fitzpatrick, and Brandon McFerran.

On Tuesday, Flamboro Speedway will feature Scott Simmons on the Instagram Live chat at 1pm EST. Simmons will share the tale of how he went from racing a Klotz Auto Repair & Machine Shop Mini Stock at Flamboro, to working in North Carolina for NASCAR team Joe Gibbs Racing.

On Wednesday, Gary Colling will be speaking with Mini Stock competitor Kyle Steckly on the Instagram live page. Steckly competed in his rookie campaign last year, scoring one win, 10 top-five’s, and 13 top-10’s.

Then on Friday, the Flamboro Speedway Instagram Live page will feature Mini Stock rookie Cole Quinton. Quinton will be jumping behind the wheel for the first time this year after gaining experience in go-karts.

Additionally, there have been coloring pages released via the track’s Facebook and Instagram pages for fans to download and color of their favourite racecars that they see weekly at the track. Flamboro Speedway encourages fans to share their finished products so we can see them.

As previously noted, the 2020 schedule is currently on hold as a result of regulations set forward by the Federal and Provincial Government. As the situation continues to develop, Flamboro Speedway will update fans when action will resume at the facility, and any changes to the schedule that may follow.

Please ensure that you’re following safe distancing practices – remaining two meters apart and only going out when necessary, and staying home if you’re feeling any symptoms to stop the spread. Though in the process, make sure to look out for your family and friends. We hope to see you all very soon.
